Dr Michelle Fitzmaurice is an experienced nutritionist with expertise in glycated peptides and biomarkers for diabetes diagnosis.

Michelle has a wide range of current research interests, and is open to collaboration with clinical and basic research scientists.  Her current research interests are:

  • The role of the microbiome in lifespan health
  • Biomarkers for the diagnosis and monitoring of diabetes
  • Gestational Diabetes diagnosis and markers for beta-cell expansion during pregnancy
  • Barriers to breastfeeding (clinical and pathological barriers)
  • Hashimotos / Hypothyroid of pregnancy and Fetal Development
